Amblyopia is the medical term used when the vision in one of the eyes is reduced because that eye and the
brain are not working together. The eye is in good health, but the brain favors the other eye; usually because
of an eye turn (strabismus) or large difference in refractive error between the eyes. Amblyopia is also known
as "lazy eye."
