| Strabismus is the medical term used when the eyes are not aligned. When an eye turns in it is an esotropia; when an eye turns out, it is an exotropia. If an eye turns up or down, it is referred to as a vertical strabismus. Depending on the patients age and severity of the eye turn, the strabismus could cause amblyopia in younger patients or indicate a more serious underlying health problem in adults. |
